We're nothing without Allah swt.

بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful

I read this here and thought i couldn't possibly keep this for myself only, this has opened my eyes just a bit more, and reminded me i'm nothing without Allah swt.

"My servants, all of you are astray except for those I have guided, so seek guidance of Me and I shall guide you, O My servants, all of you are hungry except for those I have fed, so seek food of Me and I shall feed you. O My servants, all of you are naked except for those I have clothed, so seek clothing of Me and I shall clothe you. O My servants, you sin by night and by day, and I forgive all sins, so seek forgiveness of Me and I shall forgive you. O My servants, you will not attain harming Me so as to harm Me, and will not attain benefitting Me so as to benefit Me. O My servants, were the first of you and the last of you, the human of you and the jinn of you to be as pious as the most pious heart of any one man of you, that would not increase My kingdom in anything. O My servants, were the first of you and the last of you, the human of you and the jinn of you to be as wicked as the most wicked heart of any one man of you, that would not decrease My kingdom in anything. O My servants, were the first of you and the last of you, the human of you and the jinn of you to rise up in one place and make a request of Me, and were I to give everyone what he requested, that would not decrease what I have, any more that a needle decreases the sea if put into it. O My servants, it is but your deeds that I reckon up for you and then recompense you for, so let him who finds good praise Allah and let him who finds other that blame no one but himself." Mirror mirror on the wall...

بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful

Dua for when looking in the mirror:

اللهم كما حسنت خلقي فحسن خلقي

"Allahumma kama hasanta khalqi fahassin khuluqi"

“Oh Allah! As you have beautified my outward appearance, then beautify my inward appearance (character)”

EDIT: a good way to remember this is to write it on a piece of paper and tape it next to your mirrors, that way it'll be right there every time.

Birrul Walidain (obeying ones parents)

بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful

Today i was watching a tv show on the arabic dish/cable and they were talking to a 80-something year old mother to 1 boy and 1 girl. They used to all live a normal life, just like any other family in Egypt, untill her husband died. This happend about 37 years ago, they needed money to at least get something to eat, so what to do, what to do.... she starts working as a maid, a cleaning lady, going to peoples houses and cleaning, cooking, etc. to be able to raise her children. To be able to give them food, shelter, and a good education. May Allah swt reward her for all she's done, now fast forward 37 years later.......

Shes a blind, old, helpless lady living with her son, and his wife and kids. You'd think after all she's done for him and his sister. After all she's been thru for them, he would take care of her and do every little thing he could for her, after all isn't Jannah lie under the feet of your mother? Well guess wat...thats not wat happened. While this man was gone his wife and daughter hit his mother! HIT HIS MOTHER! when he came home his mother told him of what happened and left the house, so wat does he do? he lets her go....just as if he was waiting for this day. Astaghfirullah! wtf is wrong with this guy?? what next, his mother starts to sell tissue paper in the streets. His blind mother sits down every day at the side of the street, all day waiting for people to feel bad and come buy a box of tissues, and after a long hard day in the sun, she gets about 7 dollers, just enough for her to get something to eat and go back to her little room that she lives in (not sure how she got it because i didnt watch that part). AlhamduLilah this tv show/program found her to help her out. They told her, her son is watching and what does she want to tell him, and she said "May Allah swt forgive him for what he did to me" well this is the literal meaning but its mostly said to mean "May Allah swt deal with him". Anyways the tv show will bring her to a good docter to check on her eyes and take care of all the expenses inshAllah, mashAllah! But whats wrong with people these days?

Abdullah bin `Amr bin Al-`as (May Allah be pleased with them) reported: The Prophet (PBUH) said, "(Of the) major sins are: to ascribe partners to Allah, disobey parents, murder someone, and to take a false oath (intentionally)". [Al-Bukhari]

And your Lord has decreed that you not worship except Him, and to parents, good treatment. Whether one or both of them reach old age [while] with you, say not to them [so much as], "uff," and do not repel them but speak to them a noble word. And lower to them the wing of humility out of mercy and say, "My Lord, have mercy upon them as they brought me up [when I was] small." [Al Quran- 17:23-24]

May Allah swt guide the ummah, Ameen.

My first da'wa opportunity!

بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful

Omg you guys i'm soo exited because i got my first da'wa opportunity a couple days ago while working out at the gym. I've been wanting to post about it because i really didnt expect it and it was a really nice, but simple situation. So anywho i was finished with my work out and then went to cool down and then heres what happened....
curious gym member = CGM

CGM: Hi
Me: Hi :)
CGM: So do you have to wear..um..that *points to hijab* all the time?
Me: No only in front of men that arent my family. So at my house or friends house or anywhere there isnt men that arent family, i dont have to, but otherwise, i have to cover.
CGM: So everytime you leave your house.....
Me: ya :)
CGM: What if you take it off... do you get dicipline??
Me: well my parents didnt make me wear it, no body did, but since God told us we have to cover....well we have to obey, so i dont fear anybody but God. and i wear it for God.
CGM: okay thanks.
Me: no problem

Well i guess its no big deal really, but it is for me because its the first time someone actually had the courage to approach me rather than just stare, like someone else at the gym, who was giving me the death glare, so i just smiled and moved on.

Have you had any da'wa opportunities yet?
How did it go?

What are some of the secrets of success in life?

بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful

I read this reminder here, and thought i'd share :)

When I woke up this morning I asked myself: What are some of the secrets of success in life? I found the answer right there in my very room. The Fan said - Be cool. The Roof said - Aim high. The Window said - See the world. The Clock said - Every minute is precious. The Mirror said - Reflect before you act. The Door said - Push hard for your goals. And don't forget, the Carpet said - Kneel down and pray!

Mini e.l.f haul and review

بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful

I got some stuff a couple days ago from e.l.f cosmetics and thought i'd tell u guys bout them here!

Here's what i got...

e.l.f eyeshadow brush

e.l.f blending brush

e.l.f defining eye brush

e.l.f brightening eye color in ivy

e.l.f brightening eye color in silver lining

e.l.f brightening eye color in butternut

e.l.f is a really nice and very inexpensive brand of makeup, not all their products work great (been reading reviews) but a lot of them rock. I absolutely love their brushes, they are soo soft and they don't shed, and they work really well mashAllah. I only tried the 3 eye brushes tho. Also some of the lighter colors in the eyeshadow quads don't show up very well but if you use a primer or a base it'll work :) i would definitely recommend these products. I chose the purple, brown, and green quads because those colors look nice on brown eyes, and medium/light-olive skin (I've been reading), but they have other colors too.
Have you tried e.l.f before?

Sound familiar?

بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful

Abu Hurairah (RA) narrated that Prophet Muhammad (SAW) said, “There are two types among the people of Hell whom I have not yet seen. The first are people who have whips like the tails of oxen, with which they beat people, and the second are women who are naked in spite of being dressed; they will be led astray and will lead others astray, and their heads will look like camels humps. These women will not enter Paradise; they will not even experience the faintest scent of it, even though the fragrance of Paradise can be perceived from such a great distance.”

May Allah swt guide the ummah.
Ameen

True Beauty

بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful

A woman, whose face was shining with joy and beauty, was asked: ‘What sort of make-up do you use?’ She said ‘I use for my lips truth, for my voice remembrance of Allah, for my eyes lowering my gaze, for my hands performance of good deeds, for my body sincerity and straightness, for my heart the love of Allah (SWT), for my mind wisdom, for my soul obedience of Allah, and for my desire the Iman.

When becoming humiliated, remember the Prophet (Peace be upon him) in Ta'if.

When being starved, remember the Prophet (Peace be upon him) tying two stones to his stomach in the battle of Khandaq.

When losing a family member, remember the Prophet's (Peace be upon him) departure from this world.

When becoming an orphan, remember the Prophet's (Peace be upon him) age at six.

Whatever situation you may find yourself in, remember your role model, the best of creation: Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him).

3 doors

بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful

3 doors

There are three doors that lead people to Hellfire.
-A suspicion, which causes one to doubt the religion of Allah.
-A desire, which causes one to prefer the pleasures of this world more than obeying and pleasing Allah.
-Anger, which causes aggression against Allah's creatures.

I Love...
