Makeup!!!

بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful

Sooo does anyone know a good makeup brand thats not too expensive.
I am kinda new to this and i know that even though most sisters dont wear it outdoors or in front of non-mahram men they might where it at home, or for a female only gathering.
What mascara, eyeliner, blush, foundation, concealer, etc. do u use if u use any.
I just want an idea on whats out there, but something that actually works well, that u have had good experience with.
If it helps i have combination skin, i live in the USA, and i have medium toned skin.

So do you have any ideas?
What should i try?

Since my next blog post was gonna be about makeup gurus on youtube i thought i'd comment :D

well i wear makeup...like every single day its a jihad of mine. my fave brands are MAC, Makeup forever, urban decay, NARS, etc... however they are pretty expensive, but i'd suggest u go to like sephora and get matched for ur skin tone and go from there, foundations are tricky but some of the BEST happen to be in target walmart and drug stores like revlon (try color stay, and true match) IMAN is good too.

But you definately get what you pay for with makeup, oh and u can watch gurus and tutorials on youtube

some of my faves:

Dulcecandy87
Juicystar07
Flowerpush
Michelle Phan
MakeupGeek

you'll be hooked!

Hope i helped!

Salam Sister!
I stumbled on your blog ... hope you don't mind ^ ^;

But I know many good make-up brands that are affordable! (I'm a University student P: so it is important)

The BEST mascara is maybelline's lash blast. It's in a big orange mascara stick.

For foundation I do go more expensive with clinique as it is all natural and we shouldn't be using chemical based makeups ... a lot of haram crap in them. It is worth the $30! and if you don't wear it often it is realllly worth it and does wonders to your skin.

For more eye makeup I used remell london or MAC. Always use a liquid liner for top of eye and use a pencil with a smudge stick on bottom.

Also check youtube for tutorials! I love Arabic eye makeup and there is tons of good tutorials to make your eyes look ravishing!

Hope this helps : )
God bless~ have a wonderful weekend.

Salms sis. Glad you are back to blogging!

I mostly use covergirl products but I use bare minerals for my face since I tend to break out very easy.

I only ever wear mascara and eyeliner and even that's every now and then. Not really for Islamic reasons, but more because I just never get round to it etc. Despite that, I ABSOLUTELY SWEAR by Maxfactor Masterpiece mascaras - totally awesome! (I think its way more about the brushes than the actual liquid - i used a maxfactor brush and bog standard mascara that came free with something, and voila same effect!) Good luck :D xx

okay so best drugstore makeup is mabelline and covergirl. get powder in your skintone from covergirl. then buy either lashblast from covergirl or great lash masacra from maybelline. Maubelline make good eyeliner. But i use wet n wil because its cheaper. blush use dream mousse from maybelline. lip products from either is good.

i wear makeup almost everyday, buts its just liquid eyeliner from n.y.c. we are young so we don't need foundation during a daily basis. if you have oily skin, use powder.

Hey :) I figured I'd check out your blog as well!!!

I hope this helps, I have similar skin & tone....

I wear Revlon ColorStay Foundation for oily/combo skin- it lasts all day. I don't really wear foundation much in summer though.

For powder, I use bare minerals (it sets the foundation), I also use NYX jar concealer.

Eyeshadows are just whatever I like- Ulta, NYX, ELF, Victoria's Secret, etc. If I like it, I use it. Oh!! I also really love L'Oreal HIP eyeshadows & paints.

The nude colored paint works well as a base for your eyeshadows- it helps them to last & not crease on you.
